Lawrence Sanfilippo is a seasoned retirement plan consultant and wealth manager specializing in public sector retirement and individual wealth management. Since entering the governmental retirement plan industry in 2010, Lawrence has earned recognition as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert among plan sponsors, government agencies, labor groups, and professional associations.

With over a decade of experience serving public employees, Lawrence has worked with cities, counties, school districts, higher education institutions, and state agencies—as well as first responder organizations including the International Association of Firefighters, the Fraternal Order of Police, emergency medical services, and volunteer service groups. His expertise spans a broad range of employer-sponsored plans, including 457(b), 403(b), 401(a), defined benefit pensions, and post-employment special pay programs. He also provides personalized investment advice and retirement planning services for individual public employees.

A strong advocate for fiduciary excellence, Lawrence emphasizes the use of ERISA best practices in the public sector to strengthen plan governance, improve compliance, and protect both employers and employees. He is frequently consulted during labor negotiations to provide strategic guidance on retirement benefits and has developed governance programs that help plan sponsors implement consistent fiduciary standards. His work with public school districts includes navigating the complexities of multivendor 403(b) and 457(b) plans, focusing on oversight, vendor management, and employee engagement. Lawrence also highlights the growing need for structured investment management within Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), recognizing their increasing role as a long-term retirement asset alongside traditional plans.
As a retirement plan consultant, Lawrence partners with government agencies to align retirement benefits with workforce goals such as recruitment, retention, and long-term financial wellness. In addition, he mentors and coaches hundreds of financial advisors and insurance professionals nationwide who serve public employees in their communities.

Based in Omaha, Nebraska, Lawrence leads his financial planning and consulting practice with a commitment to stewardship and the “campsite rule”: leave the industry better than you found it. Beyond his professional work, he is a proud husband and father of four teenagers, an Eagle Scout, a summer baseball coach with American Legion, and an avid golfer who enjoys friendly competition on the course.

Whether in business or in life, Lawrence brings energy, integrity, and a servant-leader mentality to everything he does.
